A retired Moore Public Schools paraprofessional, small-business owner, and dedicated community volunteer — Wilma has spent her life serving the people of Moore, Oklahoma. Now, she’s ready to serve on the school board. Her mission is simple: Put children first. Listen to families. Support educators. Strengthen our community. Wilma Bunting is a longtime resident of Moore, Oklahoma, a dedicated community volunteer, and a passionate advocate for children and public education. After many years of service as a paraprofessional with Moore Public Schools, she recently retired — closing one chapter and preparing to open another in her lifelong commitment to serving Moore’s youth and families.
Prior to working in Moore, Wilma worked for the Department of Defense, American School in Izmir Turkey. Additionally, she worked in Virginia for Yorktown Public Schools as a paraprofessional. Beyond her decades in the classroom, Wilma is a respected local business owner, demonstrating her commitment to Moore’s economic vitality and small-business community. She is married Larry Bunting, Retired Airforce Officer, together they are known for dedicating countless volunteer hours to support civic and community-based efforts. Through years of grassroots involvement, Wilma has touched many lives, building relationships across generations and social circles.
Now, Wilma is running for a seat on the Moore school board — motivated by her belief that every child in Moore deserves a safe, supportive, and empowering educational environment. Her life has been shaped by service, and she contends that her background as an educator, business-owner, and community organizer gives her a unique perspective on the needs of Moore’s schools, teachers, parents, and children.
Wilma believes that education isn’t just about academics — it’s about caring for whole children: their emotional well-being, their family situations, their everyday needs. She stands ready to bring common sense, compassion, and community-driven leadership to the school board, with a commitment to transparency, grassroots input, and collaboration.
In all she does, Wilma brings heart, humility, and a tireless work ethic — grounded in love for Moore and its people.
